SUMMARY:Genova Design Week 2026
DESCRIPTION:7°A GENOVA DESIGN WEEK\nThe splendour of Genoa Design Week returns to the streets of the city centre from 3 to 7 June 2026 with a new theme – balance – featuring exhibitions in the entrance halls and grand floors of historic buildings and in the squares of the Design District\, alongside events taking place in spaces open to the public.\n\nAn opportunity for visibility and professional development to highlight the immense potential for designers\, both in terms of quality and design.\nTHEME 2026: BALANCE\n\nThe design is based on the theme of balance: balance as the ability to harmonise different\, often opposing elements. Balance between form and function\, between tradition and innovation; balance between people\, the environment and technology; visual and perceptual balance\, as well as social and cultural balance.\nBalance as a conscious design practice\, constantly seeking harmony between complexity\, ethics and aesthetics.\n\n\n  \n \n  \nOrganised by Dide (the Genoa Design District)\, the event is now announcing its seventh edition\, featuring some of the highlights that have made it famous over the years\, such as Designer Under 35; Container 03; Design Talk Festival\, and new additions such as F/A FakeAutentic\, making its debut in Genoa with the first edition of the exhibition at Santa Maria di Castello dedicated to research themes and creative artefacts\, and Interior Architecture in Liguria\, an exhibition scheduled at Galleria Mazzini involving 60 architectural practices.\n  \nEXHIBITING INSIDE PALACES\nThe exhibition venues are not just any old spaces\, but gateways to places steeped in history and beauty\, which are specially opened up to make them accessible to the general public. A blend of history and design in the heart of Genoa’s historic centre. \nCONFIRMATIONS\nFollowing the success of the previous two editions\, Container 03 returns for the third consecutive year. This installation features ten distinct interior design scenarios\, each set within a shipping container. The exhibition will be structured to reflect design’s ability to adapt to contemporary challenges and to embrace new technologies\, materials and creative processes. The exhibition\, curated by Simona Finessi\, will take place in the Porto Antico and Darsena areas. \nUNDER 35\nOnce again this year\, there is a focus on new talent with ‘Designer Under 35’\, an exploratory programme for emerging designers where the flow of ideas shapes the new cornerstones of the project\, giving voice to the vision of the future. Curated by Laura Palazzini\, the competition remains an opportunity for young creatives to showcase their work\, experimenting with new forms and ideas centred on simplicity\, functionality and sustainability. The programme also includes meetings and workshops with industry experts. \nFESTIVAL DESIGN TALK\nThe Design Talk Festival\, meanwhile\, will see the return of leading figures from the worlds of architecture and design to Genoa\, creating an event celebrating high-calibre design culture\, open to the public. The 2024 edition featured architects Michele De Lucchi\, Fabio Novembre and Clara Bona in conversation with Luca Molinari. The 2025 edition featured architects Mario Cucinella\, Luigi Priano (RPBW director) alongside Gabriel Fagundes and Raffaella Parodi\, and Massimo Adiansi of Architerror.

SUMMARY:Performance live: Elias Naman
DESCRIPTION:LIVE SCULPTING by Elias Naman\nThe artist Elias Naman will be in residence at the gallery to create his three-dimensional sculptures in Carrara marble live. A sculptor of Syrian origin\, he works—as was customary in the past—using only a chisel to shape blocks of Carrara marble\, the finest stone whose history echoes through the centuries. Naman does not produce any drawings or models\, but surrenders to his unusual affinity with the cold material to reveal what it conceals.\n\nA unique opportunity to experience hand-crafted sculpture\, transforming raw material into a figure.\n\n  \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n  \nTHE ARTIST\n\n\n\n\nElias Naman was born in Yabroud (Syria) in 1980. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAfter graduating from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Damascus\, he arrived in Italy in 2003 and enrolled at the Accademia di Carrara\, where he obtained his four-year degree in 2009 and\, in 2011\, specialised in sculpture with top marks.\nHe has always favoured the figurative style and works marble exclusively by hand\, without the aid of machinery\, just as Michelangelo did over five hundred years ago.\nHis working method draws on tradition and classical principles: he works directly from the block of marble without the use of a model or drawings.\n\n“For Elias Naman\, marble is a living\, sensitive substance. A voice to be listened to and transferred into the soul\, to combine the spirit of classicism with the deepest emotional impulses.\nIndeed\, whether he carves and shapes the white Carrara marble or the grey Bardiglio\, symphonic voluptuousness emerges from his hands\, combining the spirit of classicism with the emotional impulses aroused by the state of grace of every age.\n\nHis is truly a ‘heroic endeavour’\, for even today he does not shy away from evoking\, through his artistry\, time-honoured memories of ancient drapery\, only to direct the remainder of the narrative not towards the concreteness of a figure to be represented\, but towards the nostalgic flight of a dream to be pursued in the course of an ethereal evolution that ideally extends beyond the work itself.”\n\n(Elisabetta Buttiglione)

SUMMARY:Solo exhibition by Gianluca Patti
DESCRIPTION:  \nThe exhibition season at Galleria Studio Rossetti continues with a solo exhibition dedicated to artist Gianluca Patti.\n\nAn eclectic and sensitive artist\, he is characterized by his bold use of color\, expressed through studied and delicate brushstrokes\, overlapping and layered. The artist manages to blend and create a dialogue between color and materials to which he feels a strong affinity\, which have marked his formative path. Through layering\, he recounts time and the unwritten stories that accompany it.\n\nDrawing on his familiarity with construction elements such as resins\, stucco\, pigments\, and gauze\, and his skill in handling colors\, he manages to create artistic compositions of pure abstraction\, balanced but endowed with marked originality and great visual and material impact.\n\nThanks to his use of color\, Patti has developed his own personal style in which color and material coexist\, complement each other\, come to life together\, and enhance each other.\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\nGianluca Patti’s works are a kaleidoscope of emotional and visual stimuli.\nThe artist depicts the metamorphosis\, evolution\, and relentless flow of our thoughts over time. These changes give rise to new insights\, inspirations\, and ideas in a constant stream. \nThe title of the exhibition was inspired by listening to the song ‘Go Ahead’ by Miles Davis\, the great trumpeter and jazz composer considered one of the most influential and innovative musicians of the 20th century. In the 1980s\, he embodied the concept that change must be a constant component in art: ‘If you want to keep creating\, you have to be about change’. Jazz is free music\, constantly changing: in the same way\, Gianluca Patti’s work moves sinuously between structure and improvisation\, control and abandonment. On the table\, rules serve only as a springboard for creative leaps\, transforming into a continuous exercise in self-determination\, poised between free choice and the ripples of shared language.\n\n\nGo Ahead tells of determination and of not stopping\, of accepting change as an integral part of the creative and human journey. It is an invitation to never stop creating\, to believe in movement\, in research\, in the possibility of reinventing oneself. In an age that demands speed and certainty\, this exhibition asserts the value of process\, evolution and listening. As in the music of Miles Davis\, here too the meaning lies not in perfection\, but in the tension towards something that is still happening.\n\n\nGianluca Patti\nBorn in Monza (MB) in 1977. Lives and works in Monza. \nGianluca Patti was born in Monza on August 28\, 1977. After obtaining his diploma in surveying\, he worked for about 20 years in the communications and publishing sector. During these years\, he had the opportunity to deepen his passion for art\, immediately trying his hand at painting and studying contemporary art.\n\nThe artist’s cross-disciplinary approach also led him to collaborate on set design in the advertising and interior design sectors and to be selected for art and business projects.\n\nToday\, he exhibits in important galleries nationally and internationally. His latest project is the mural “Respiro” (Breath)\, an artistic intervention created with a special eco-sustainable paint capable of reducing air pollution.

SUMMARY:Genova fucina dell'arte.

SUMMARY:Presentation of the book “Jeanne Hébuterne—the light of Modigliani” by Stefania Colombo
DESCRIPTION:Presentation of the book Jeanne Hébuterne – la luce di Modigliani (Jeanne Hébuterne – Modigliani’s Light)\, in the presence of author Stefania Colombo. Event curated by Arianna Destito Maffeo and Antonella Grandicelli of The MeltinPop\, the literary blog dedicated to all cultural issues related to society and the local area. \nDuring the evening\, it will be possible to purchase the book. \nLocked in a room on a winter night in Paris in 1920\, Jeanne is not alone: her brother André is with her. When you are desperate\, you should always have a brother by your side. Brother and sister remember\, imagine\, cry\, and laugh. Jeanne is talented\, in love\, and not yet twenty-two years old. Her child is about to be born. Her partner has just died. Few people know Jeanne Hébuterne. Everyone knows her partner: Amedeo Modigliani. During this long night\, immersed in memories of an overwhelming passion and forbidden love\, Jeanne retraces her story with Modì. A compelling tale of love\, loss\, and resilience set in the vibrant and tormented artistic world of early 20th-century Paris. \nLink to the book: https://www.morellinieditore.it/books/jeanne-hebuterne/ \n  \n \n  \nSTEFANIA COLOMBO \nBorn in Milan in 1979\, she was fascinated by the creative power of words and initially became interested in the performative power of language\, working as a criminal lawyer from 2004 to 2013. At the same time\, she trained as an actress\, author\, and director. She moved to Paris\, where she currently lives\, and obtained a Master’s degree in Études Théâtrales at the Sorbonne Nouvelle-Paris 3. She is a member of the artistic collective La portée and the theater company Il Palinsesto. She contributed to the book A tutto sport\, published by La Spiga (2016).

SUMMARY:Presentation of the book ‘Il destino di Sofonisba’ (The Destiny of Sofonisba) by Chiara Montani
DESCRIPTION:Presentation of the book Il destino di Sofonisba (The Destiny of Sofonisba)\, in the presence of the author\, Chiara Montani. Event curated by Enrica Perilio\, museum services curator\, in conversation with art historians Michela Fasce and Martina Panizzutt.\n\n‘You see\, Sofonisba\, if you had been born a man\, I would have done everything to have you in my workshop… even at the risk that your light would end up overshadowing me. You don’t really need me\, or anyone else. The gift you possess has always been within you like a rare gem\, rough but already perfect.’\n\nCremona\, 1546.\nSofonisba Anguissola is little more than a child when she recognises the only thing that can truly make her happy: painting. Hers is not just a talent\, it is an overwhelming passion; she does not want to fill her eyes with art\, she wants to create it. Although her era is not at all generous to enterprising women\, the nobleman Amilcare Anguissola decides not to frustrate his daughter’s aspirations by allowing her to take private lessons\, on condition that she does not go to the workshop\, does not come into contact with the other apprentices\, and is excluded from geometry\, perspective and anatomy. Sofonisba was thus able to push her ambition beyond what she would ever have believed possible. Despite the many limitations\, she immediately proved capable of capturing on canvas the deepest emotions and movements of the soul of those she portrayed. It is something that cannot be taught\, a natural talent combined with an almost absolute mastery of the elusive world of pigments\, oils and resins. Her extraordinary gift took her far from her native Cremona to Milan and then to Habsburg Spain\, where she became\, albeit unofficially\, a court painter. But every success leaves its mark\, as does every battle fought to gain recognition for a role traditionally reserved for men. Adverse circumstances forced Sofonisba to give up the great love of her life\, and the Spanish monarch Philip II forced her into a marriage of convenience. However\, nothing in her long life ever distracted her from her greatest work of art: the construction of her destiny as a free artist\, which the passing of the centuries has not diminished.\n\n\nTHE AUTHOR\nChiara Montani was born in Milan. After graduating in Architecture\, she worked in the world of design and graphics. She specialises in art therapy and loves to devote herself to art\, which is also the main subject of her literary works. She has published a trilogy with Garzanti (Il mistero della pittrice ribelle\, La ritrattista\, L’artista e il signore di Urbino) and Enigma Tiziano. She is also the author of Ciò che una donna può fare (UTET)\, a history of art from a female perspective. Her books have been translated into French and Spanish.\n\nLink to the book: https://neripozza.it/libro/9788854533769

SUMMARY:The art market: between passion\, investment and speculation
DESCRIPTION:Conference by Armando Battelli\, historian and art expert at the Court of Genoa. An analysis of the complex world of the art market\, which we will address with a narrative made up of images and anecdotes.\n\nCollecting stems from the pleasure of buying out of passion. We will analyse the market in its various facets and structures\, such as galleries\, which play a fundamental role in the dissemination and promotion of artists\, following and enhancing their careers.\n\nHowever\, there are many players in the art market\, each playing a completely different role: we will address the logic of auction houses and the work of art advisors and courtiers. Further analysis will be dedicated to financial structures that offer purchases with forms of speculative agreements\, which sometimes lead to successful moves\, while others turn out to be major flops.\n\nThe meeting is free and structured to suit a varied audience: collectors\, enthusiasts and even novices.

SUMMARY:Presentation of the book ‘La Musa Surreale’ (The Surreal Muse) by Alessandra Redaelli
DESCRIPTION:Presentation of the book ‘La Musa Surreale’ (The Surreal Muse)\, in the presence of the writer\, journalist and curator Alessandra Redaelli\, who will talk about Surrealism through the eyes of a muse. The book will be available for purchase during the evening.\n\nInspired by the life of Gala Dmitrievna\, the narrative voice is finally that of a woman: the muse of Surrealism.\n\nIn the novel\, Gala stands out as the pivotal character of an era\, the driving force behind the literary career of Paul Eluard – France’s greatest poet – and the artistic career of Salvador Dalí\, the very symbol of Surrealist painting.\n\nLocked away in her castle in Púbol\, in the heart of the province of Gerona\, Spain\, a now mature Gala tells her story in the first person\, from when she was still called Elena Dmitrievna and arrived from Russia in Switzerland to be treated for tuberculosis in a sanatorium and to meet\, there\, a very young and shy Paul Eluard.\n\n\nThen passion flares up\, and her unwavering faith in the talent of a boy who becomes a man and establishes himself as one of the leading figures of Dadaism and Surrealism. Then came her encounter with Max Ernst\, the ménage à trois that scandalised Paris\, and later\, the arrival of the young Dalí in the couple’s life and the birth of a love that excluded everything else and became the driving force behind a unique and revolutionary art form.\n\nPunctuated by memories\, regrets for a youth now gone\, and heartbreaks for the young lovers who accompanied her in her final years\, Gala’s story is that of a divisive woman who knew how to make herself hated by the world as much as she knew how to make herself adored by the men who stood by her.\nBut it is also the story of a century that left no room for women\, and an opportunity to reflect on the stories of all the female figures who were wrongly considered secondary characters in art and who instead contributed fundamentally to its evolution.\n\nLink to the book: https://www.vandaedizioni.com/prodotto/ottobre-la-musa-surreale/

SUMMARY:OUT OF CONTROL by Julian T
DESCRIPTION:On the occasion of Genova START Friday\, 3 October will see the opening of Out of Control\, the solo exhibition by Julian T \nThe artist’s research begins with the marvellous simplicity of a small drop falling and crashing onto a sheet of paper\, unexpectedly\, in a brief instant. Julian T is fascinated by the indomitability of such a linear gesture\, exaggerating it across the board and crystallising the ungovernable forever. The result is a painting that does not need to express itself through form\, because it is closely linked to being and living.\n\nImpact leaves its manifestation to chance; it is out of control. Randomness is a very fascinating element; not having control means pausing to observe what generates the unpredictable. All forms are metaphors for a state of mind that is identified through the form itself. Kandinsky speaks of the “spirituality of art”\, seeing form beyond its own form. An artist must “touch the inner strings of the soul\, for his task is not to dominate form\, but to adapt form to content”.\n\nVisual art accentuates a subjective interpretation of the work; attributing one’s feelings to an object or a person is an unconscious process: Julian T’s stain becomes a deep black hole\, sucking and pulling everything away with it; or explosive force\, a mass that spills out\, invades and bursts into the room.\n\nThe desire to share this experience in front of people\, creating pathos and uncontrolled interaction\, aims to excite\, provoke\, stimulate dialogue and elicit changing inspirations.\n\nOPENING OUT OF CONTROL Friday 3 October at 6 p.m.\n\nPERFORMANCE Friday 3 October at 7.30 p.m.

SUMMARY:Genova Design Week 2025
DESCRIPTION:MATTER: soul of design\n6th Genova Design Week\n  \nSixth edition of the Genova Design Week with more and more designers. In the Design District and throughout the city\, the protagonists give life to one extraordinary event.\n\nAn opportunity for visibility and professionalism to make people realise the great potential for designers\, both in terms of quality and design.\nTHEME 2025\n\n\nMatter as a creative and narrative fulcrum\, exploring the deep connection between materials\, forms and innovation. A journey through tradition and modernity\, highlighting the essential role of matter in contemporary design.\nGenoa\, with its timeless charm\, is transformed into a stage where history and the avant-garde meet\, paying homage to design as a universal language capable of giving soul to matter.\n\n\n \n\n\nOrganised by Dide – Distretto del Design di Genova\, the event announces for this edition a new theme\, matter\, and some of the contents that have made it famous in recent years\, such as Outdoor without borders\, Designer Under 35\, Container 02\, Design Festival and the new Best Houses. GDW thus becomes the city’s heritage\, thanks to the entire design sector and the quality of Genoa’s stores\, which\, if they organise self-organised events\, will be included in the event’s communication. The central theme of Genoa Design Week 2025 will be Matter\, understood not only as a construction element\, but as a creative and narrative principle capable of connecting materials\, forms and technology.\n  \nMATTER\nMatter is the starting point of design\, the medium through which designers tell stories\, experiment with new solutions and create objects that arouse emotions and transform spaces.\n\nFrom traditional materials\, such as glass\, wood\, marble and cement\, to the most recent innovations in the field of biopolymers\, recycled fabrics and biodegradable materials\, research is increasingly oriented towards sustainable and intelligent solutions. Materials become expressive languages\, capable of dialogue between past and future\, between craftsmanship and high technology.\n\nIn this edition\, designers and companies will explore the potential of materials through installations\, workshops and experiments\, showing how the choice of materials can redefine the aesthetics\, functionality and environmental impact of objects and spaces.\n\nFrom interactive surfaces to bio-based materials\, from 3D printing to reactive fabrics\, matter becomes the protagonist of a new way of thinking about design\, capable of responding to the challenges of the present with creativity\, innovation and ecological awareness.\n\nGenoa Design Week 2025 will therefore be a journey through matter in all its forms\, an opportunity to discover how design can give life to new perspectives\, improving ourselves\, our relationship with the environment and the way we inhabit the world.\n\n\nEVENTS: \n  \n \n

SUMMARY:Talking with artists: Gianni Lucchesi
DESCRIPTION:conversation with the artists \nTalk with Gianni Lucchesi\n\nWhat thought inspired these geometries?\nWhy does a little man sit on concrete?\nWhat is the significance of the brick?\n\nThese are just some of the questions you can ask the artists directly\, starting with Gianni Lucchesi\, who will be present at the gallery on Tuesday 15 April at 6 p.m. to talk about the themes proposed by the current exhibition\, but also to explore any curiosities linked to his personal way of working and expressing himself. A second talk will be organised in May\, in the company of Lorenzo Cecilioni.\n\n\nGIANNI LUCCHESI\nFamous in Genoa for his sculpture of a man sitting atop a tower of cubes that watched over and intrigued passers-by in Piazza De Ferrari in the autumn of 2023.\n\nLucchesi’s work has always been animated by the attempt to visually translate the reflections arising from the investigation of the psyche\, of the emotional states of the individual in relation to himself\, to others and to his surroundings. Through visual metaphors drawn from universal languages arising from artistic and spiritual research\, emotions take shape and colour.\nOne of his codes of reference is the earth understood as subsoil\, as a metaphor for the emotional stratification of the subjects observed: earth as the inner environment and roots as the essence of the subject.\nA thread\, for the graphic sign or for painting\, is a boundary between the self and the outside\, with all that it contains also free to contagion and connection on different planes as it happens in the ‘Inner Environments’ in which the lo recurs that marks the passage. The places within which his works come to life are carefully chosen.\n\nPlaces with an evocative and fascinating depth brushed by nature or by the hand of man\, it does not matter\, as long as they have that suggestive strength to encompass the new art\, the new interpretation of human feeling.

SUMMARY:Senza Filtro (No Filter) by Gianni Lucchesi and Lorenzo Cecilioni
DESCRIPTION:Senza Filtro – Gianni Lucchesi and Lorenzo Cecilioni’s bi-personal exhibition\nThe artistic encounter between Gianni Lucchesi and Lorenzo Cecilioni triggers the magic of transformation\, both physical and intellectual: a dialogue in which the essentiality of the structure does not deny the aesthetics of the form\, giving rise to a sort of compositional brutalism\, understood in its conceptual manifestation as a clear exposition of the structure and enhancement of the materials\, which show themselves in their true nature\, without superstructures and compromises.\n\nLucchesi starts with the concept and creates the relationship\, Cecilioni guides the elements and places the composition. The two artists are united by their love of material\, their compositional sensitivity\, their preference for essential\, raw materials destined for raw expressiveness. Another element\, for different reasons\, unites them\, namely the symbolic aspect of materials and their chemical-symbolic connotation. Both of them\, like alchemists\, work to transform matter in order to transform themselves.\n\nThe artistic research in the exhibition Senza Filtro wants to draw attention to the brutalism of relationships\, of relations\, of today’s society. Human beings can also reveal themselves to be brutal\, when they show aspects that are crude\, essential\, and yet true. And it is precisely the investigation into the concept of reality and fiction that occupies a large space in the two artists’ analysis. The intention\, therefore\, is to take a step backwards\, considered\, in truth\, as a leap towards the essence\, to bring us closer to the fascination of constructing a reality that is true\, not invented\, nor artificial. The idea of subtraction is developed here from a conceptual and social point of view\, also applicable to the way we perceive what we see and experience. What remains\, by choosing to remove rather than add\, is the bare and brutal backbone of the concept\, the essentiality of the real\, without frills or deception. A search with four hands and two minds\, aimed at rediscovering the ability to break the surface\, sometimes fake\, in favour of a less conspicuous but imposing and solid reality\, like truth.\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n GIANNI LUCCHESI\n \n \n \n \n \n LORENZO CECILIONI

SUMMARY:Hashi by Tom Porta
DESCRIPTION:Hashi\, the bridge. \nThe bridge constitutes not only a physical but also a metaphorical crossing point in ancient Japanese culture. \nIt can be crossed in both directions\, for example in gardens\, to pass over waterways during meditation paths. It represents the passage between states of mind\, as well as stages of life or decisions about one’s path. \nHashi’s collection of works\, punctuated by four paths (Night\, Day\, Mono and Stereo) and three bridges represents not necessarily an evolution\, rather a sideways glimpse into the perpetual motion of creating\, understood as sincere expression\, a primal need underlying every artist’s awareness. \nIt is not known whether this is a new direction or a temporary glimpse\, but it is certain that it reflects\, after several years of research\, an important deep breath in the unfolding of that Kata aimed at perfecting one of the Master Arts on par with the use of the sword and necessary for the completeness of the Samurai. \nThe opening of the exhibition will take place on Thursday\, November 28 at 6 p.m. in the Rossetti Underground space\, the basement of Palazzo Saluzzo. Also on this occasion\, mindful of previous successful collaborations\, the installations in Tom Porta’s exhibition are curated by Virginia Cafiero. \nTOM PORTA. \nHis work focuses on the history of the 20th century\, using the past as a mirror of the present\, as shown in his highly successful cycle “Shinpu Tokkotai Project” Inspired by Japanese Kamikaze.\nThe artist is fascinated by the passage of time\, the mark on objects\, the wear and tear he allows to flow in his journey. There is no casual observer and distraction is literally pulverized by the power of the pictorial stroke\, the choice of subjects\, the framing\, the colors as vital breaths. \nVIRGINIA CAFIERO \nVirginia Cafiero creates paper doughs with meticulous patience through a careful and painstaking process\, to which she combines vegetable elements\, which she shapes into subtle irregular forms\, with rough surfaces and natural colors. Thus are born paper dresses\, kimonos composed of tea bags. He collaborates with numerous city art spaces and exhibits his paper works throughout Europe. He has created exhibitions and installations for a number of museums in Genoa\, such as the Commenda di Prè Museum\, the Galata del Mare Museum and the St. Augustine Museum.

SUMMARY:Dialogue between artist Alessandra Gasparini and curator Alessandra Redaelli
DESCRIPTION:DIALOGUE BETWEEN ARTIST AND CURATOR \nCurator Alessandra Redaelli meets artist Alessandra Gasparini. \nOn Friday\, October 18\, 2024\, at 6 p.m.\, Alessandra Redaelli will be in Genoa to open a dialogue with artist Alessandra Gasparini. The meeting is open to all interested and will be an opportunity to learn more about the artist and her world\, surrounded by her works. The event will be held at our gallery in Via Chiabrera 33r\, in the historic center of Genoa. \nDuring this meeting it will also be possible to visit the exhibition “Red is Vindictive” by Alessandra Gasparini\, curated by Alessndra Redaelli. \nBelow is an excerpt from the critical text of the exhibition\, written by Alessandra Redaelli: \nAlessandra Gasparini possesses a world\, inside\, so imposing and so packed with suggestions and images that when it gushes onto the canvas it stretches there in complex narratives\, impossible to grasp at first glance. Paintings of slow construction\, impeccable in the concatenation of logical connections and yet imbued with an instinctuality that does not go unnoticed\, a wild creativity\, which is then the ingredient of enchantment. “A continuous barter between my mind and the painting\,” is how the artist defines the creative process. With a first mental plan and a first deliberately rough sketch\, not very detailed\, because paradoxically it is precisely the detail here that determines the space of gesture and freedom\, of improvisation\, of the brush that goes following its own internal music. And this letting go of the painting’s will is such that it forces her\, sometimes\, to add a piece of canvas\, underneath the painting she has started. For her narrative must go on and cannot be stopped. After all\, Gasparini appears just like that: instinct and reason\, Sturm und Drang and Encyclopédie. Opposites that meet on the canvases in the tight dialogue between the surgical meticulousness of detail and the abstract\, free gesture that Gasparini often reserves for the edges. Because she fell in love with drawing as a child\, but then she was able to go further\, choosing to delve into abstraction in order to get inside color\, but above all to learn how to deconstruct reality\, to disrupt vision and thus find her own authentic voice. \nProtagonists of his painting are children. Never chosen at random\, beautiful with a beauty that is by no means prissy but rather harsh\, rough; capable of looks that force us to question ourselves. Children who have not yet lost the ability to believe in themselves typical of childhood\, the sense of omnipotence that nails the adult to the relativity of his own convictions. Not yet human\, as the artist defines them\, certainly not yet tamed by the mask of adulthood.

SUMMARY:Meet André Aciman
DESCRIPTION:ANDRE’ ACIMAN\, WRITER OF “CALL ME BY YOUR NAME\,” PRESENTS NATIONAL PREMIERE IN GENOA AND SAVONA OF HIS NEW COLLECTION OF ESSAYS\nI \nThe two events will take place on October 3 and 4 at “Officine Suleiman” and “Rossetti arte contemporanea” gallery. On the same days\, the first filming of the documentary dedicated to the author will take place. \nThe cities of Genoa and Savona are preparing to become the cradle of literature with an event of international caliber. André Aciman\, writer of the famous novel “Call Me by Your Name\,” will in fact be in Liguria on Oct. 3 and 4 to present the national premiere of his new collection of essays. The locations will be the “Officine Solimano” (6:30 p.m.) in Savona and the “Rossetti arte contemporanea” gallery in Genoa (6 p.m.). \nThe same days will also see the first filming of the documentary dedicated to André Aciman\, which will be directed by independent director and producer Samuele Mancini and the collaboration of the authors\, students of the University of Genoa\, Alessia Spinola\, Ylenia De Leonardis and Rebecca Roddolo. \nThe meetings and the documentary aim to bring to light the relationship of the famous international writer with Liguria\, which has always been evoked in his writing. This talk proposes to highlight the strong bond between the author and the region\, whose beauty and art shaped his works. “Call Me by Your Name\,” his best-known novel\, from which the 2018 Oscar-winning film of the same name was made\, is in fact set in the Ligurian Riviera\, more precisely in Bordighera. \nThe aim is to make people discover an unseen side of this Region\, made up of villages and roads that are still little known; giving rise to a new form of tourism that goes beyond the summer season. During the two events it is intended to focus on art and literature as fundamental themes in an increasingly digitized world in which the dimension of “real life” is lost in the facets of the digital one. \nINFO AND PROGRAMMING \n18:00 Meeting with André Aciman\n7:45 p.m. Greetings aperitif\nMax 25 seats / reservations required\nFor reservations at link: https://www.samuelemancini.com/andre-aciman-genova\nor via Whatsup message at:\nAlessia +39 340 389 5120 \n \n

SUMMARY:Il rosso è vendicativo by Alessandra Gasparini
DESCRIPTION:On the occasion of the opening of the new exhibition season\, in the context of the event START – the white night of modern and contemporary art\, the Rossetti Gallery proposes the solo exhibition “Il rosso è vendicativo” (“Red is vindictive”) by Alessandra Gasparini\, a multifaceted artist whose talent becomes an emblem of freedom of expression and openness to knowledge and instinct. \nAlessandra Gasparini possesses a world\, inside\, so imposing and so packed with suggestions and images that when it gushes onto the canvas it stretches there in complex\, rich narratives\, impossible to grasp at first glance. Paintings of slow and meticulous construction\, impeccable in the concatenation of logical connections and\, nevertheless\, imbued with an instinctuality that does not go unnoticed\, with a wild\, untamable creativity\, which is then the ingredient of enchantment. \nProtagonists of Gasparini’s painting are children. Never chosen at random\, beautiful with a beauty that is by no means prissy but rather harsh\, rough; children who have not yet lost the ability to believe in themselves typical of childhood\, the sense of omnipotence that nails the adult to the relativity of his own convictions. Not yet human\, as the artist defines them\, certainly not yet tamed by the mask of adulthood. \nOne of the artist’s unique features is his delight in continuing the narrative by adding a piece of the story behind the framed canvas. It is the space of freedom\, the mockery of the limitations of the boundaries of the canvas. An installation will be placed in the atrium of Palazzo Saluzzo with the painting “I Had a Chair\,” on the back of which a naked little girl appears huddled in a seat\, pondering how to use the large jar of red paint she holds next to her. Nearby is the inscription\, “When red calls\, it is best to humor it. Red is vindictive.”

SUMMARY:Enigma Tiziano by Chiara Montani
DESCRIPTION:“Enigma Tiziano” by Chiara Montani – Garzanti Editore\, a historical novel set during World War II that\, through the compelling story of Aida\, eviscerates with deep passion and mastery the genius of the great master Tiziano Vecellio\, known simply as Titian. \n“Aida is a restorer\, and her mission becomes to unearth the painting she senses is hidden beneath the anonymous surface. What she discovers is beyond expectation: never would she have imagined that she was standing before an authentic Tiziano.” \nOn Thursday\, April 11\, writer Chiara Montani will be present at the gallery to talk in person about her book\, which addresses numerous issues\, including the danger to which not only people but also works of art have been subjected. It was possible to organize this event thanks to Enrica Perilio\, curator of museum services\, who will present and conduct the meeting. Special guest of the evening will be art critic and historian Giovanna Rotondi Terminiello\, whose presence will be crucial as she witnessed the brutality of that historical period and\, as an art lover\, will tell us in person her story\, akin to that of the novel’s protagonist. \nWe look forward to seeing you on Thursday\, April 11 at 6 p.m. to talk about the book “Enigma Tiziano” by Chiara Montani and the testimonies of critic and historian Giovanna Rotondi Terminiello. \nChiara Montani \nChiara Montani\, an architect by training\, has worked in the fields of design\, graphics and art\, exploring various techniques and materials\, and participating in exhibitions in Italy and abroad. A specialist in art therapy\, she has been leading workshops on the therapeutic potential of the creative process for years. \nGiovanna Rotondi Terminiello \nAn art historian\, she has been involved in the protection\, conservation\, restoration and enhancement of works of art as an employee of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Tourism in which she worked in Genoa\, holding the position of superintendent for the artistic and historical heritage of Liguria from 1967 to 1997. In that capacity she directed restoration campaigns\, organized exhibitions on Genoese artistic civilization in Liguria\, Italy and abroad\, founded and set up museums (such as the National Gallery of Liguria and the Diocesan Museums of Albenga and Chiavari)\, and edited catalogs of exhibitions and proceedings of scientific conferences she promoted.\nSince 1996 she has been president of the jury of the national award “Ark of Art. Rotondi Award to the saviors of art” (legally recognized by the state in 2009).
