SUMMARY:Genova Design Week 2026
DESCRIPTION:7°A GENOVA DESIGN WEEK\nThe splendour of Genoa Design Week returns to the streets of the city centre from 3 to 7 June 2026 with a new theme – balance – featuring exhibitions in the entrance halls and grand floors of historic buildings and in the squares of the Design District\, alongside events taking place in spaces open to the public.\n\nAn opportunity for visibility and professional development to highlight the immense potential for designers\, both in terms of quality and design.\nTHEME 2026: BALANCE\n\nThe design is based on the theme of balance: balance as the ability to harmonise different\, often opposing elements. Balance between form and function\, between tradition and innovation; balance between people\, the environment and technology; visual and perceptual balance\, as well as social and cultural balance.\nBalance as a conscious design practice\, constantly seeking harmony between complexity\, ethics and aesthetics.\n\n\n  \n \n  \nOrganised by Dide (the Genoa Design District)\, the event is now announcing its seventh edition\, featuring some of the highlights that have made it famous over the years\, such as Designer Under 35; Container 03; Design Talk Festival\, and new additions such as F/A FakeAutentic\, making its debut in Genoa with the first edition of the exhibition at Santa Maria di Castello dedicated to research themes and creative artefacts\, and Interior Architecture in Liguria\, an exhibition scheduled at Galleria Mazzini involving 60 architectural practices.\n  \nEXHIBITING INSIDE PALACES\nThe exhibition venues are not just any old spaces\, but gateways to places steeped in history and beauty\, which are specially opened up to make them accessible to the general public. A blend of history and design in the heart of Genoa’s historic centre. \nCONFIRMATIONS\nFollowing the success of the previous two editions\, Container 03 returns for the third consecutive year. This installation features ten distinct interior design scenarios\, each set within a shipping container. The exhibition will be structured to reflect design’s ability to adapt to contemporary challenges and to embrace new technologies\, materials and creative processes. The exhibition\, curated by Simona Finessi\, will take place in the Porto Antico and Darsena areas. \nUNDER 35\nOnce again this year\, there is a focus on new talent with ‘Designer Under 35’\, an exploratory programme for emerging designers where the flow of ideas shapes the new cornerstones of the project\, giving voice to the vision of the future. Curated by Laura Palazzini\, the competition remains an opportunity for young creatives to showcase their work\, experimenting with new forms and ideas centred on simplicity\, functionality and sustainability. The programme also includes meetings and workshops with industry experts. \nFESTIVAL DESIGN TALK\nThe Design Talk Festival\, meanwhile\, will see the return of leading figures from the worlds of architecture and design to Genoa\, creating an event celebrating high-calibre design culture\, open to the public. The 2024 edition featured architects Michele De Lucchi\, Fabio Novembre and Clara Bona in conversation with Luca Molinari. The 2025 edition featured architects Mario Cucinella\, Luigi Priano (RPBW director) alongside Gabriel Fagundes and Raffaella Parodi\, and Massimo Adiansi of Architerror.

SUMMARY:Dialectics of Balance: group exhibition
DESCRIPTION:THE DIALECTIC OF BALANCE: BETWEEN DOMINATION AND LOSS OF CONTROL.\nTHE GROUP EXHIBITION DURING GENOA DESIGN WEEK\nA group exhibition conceived and organised around the concept of ‘Balance’\, the central theme of the Genova Design Week 2026. \nBalance as the ability to harmonise different\, often opposing elements. Balance between form and function\, between tradition and innovation; balance between people\, the environment and technology; visual and perceptual balance\, social and cultural balance.\nBalance as a conscious design practice\, constantly seeking harmony between complexity\, ethics and aesthetics. \nThe artists Gianni Lucchesi\, Paolo Ceribelli\, Gianluca Patti and Julian T. engage in a dialogue within the exhibition to explore the concept of balance\, not as static symmetry\, but as a dynamic tension between opposing forces: fullness and emptiness\, light and shadow\, chaos and order. Not a point of arrival\, nor a state of motionless stillness. In art\, balance is a dynamic process\, a constant dance between contrasting forces that strive not to succumb to one another.\n\nIs balance\, then\, the result of an ‘artifice’\, a human need to impose meaning on the becoming of things?\n\nThis exhibition has been conceived to explore that “fine line” upon which creativity and existence itself rest. Through the works on display\, the concept of balance reveals itself in its duality: on the one hand\, classical proportion\, which reassures the eye with its harmony; on the other\, the fragility of the precarious\, which leaves us breathless before sculptures that seem to defy gravity.\n\nIn a world dominated by disorder and speed\, art acts as an interpreter of our need to find a centre. The selected installations and paintings do not offer definitive answers\, but pose the fundamental question: how can we remain standing in a universe that is constantly changing?\n\n \n \n \n \n Gianluca Patti – \n \n \n \n \n \n Paolo Ceribelli – \n \n \n \n \n \n Juilian T.\n \n \n \n \n \n Gianni Lucchesi\n \n \n\nThe exhibition opens on Wednesday 3 June at 6.00 pm at the gallery premises at 33r Via Chiabrera. \n

SUMMARY:Emily Bartlett: The circle
DESCRIPTION:  \nTo mark the eagerly awaited annual event with Genova START 2026\, our gallery is delighted to present the exhibition “The Circle”\, marking the debut of the British artist Emily Bartlett at our gallery. \nThe exhibition takes place against the evocative backdrop of Genoa’s ‘White Night of Contemporary Art’\, celebrating the start of the new season with an international and original programme. Through a selection of works created and conceived specifically for the occasion\, Emily Bartlett presents her stylistic exploration to our audience for the first time\, offering a profound reflection on the theme of inner transformation. A unique opportunity to discover a new artistic voice with a European outlook in a vibrant and engaging atmosphere. \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\nIn Emily Bartlett’s exhibition\, the work moves beyond literal representation to draw on lived experience.\nGrown up in the English countryside of Dorset\, Bartlett spent part of her youth in Genoa\, an experience that proved crucial to her artistic development. The Ligurian atmosphere\, with its light and chromatic energy\, runs through her entire body of work as a recurring theme. This indissoluble bond now finds a natural evolution in the solo exhibition ‘The Circle’\, a symbolic continuation of a cycle that began many years ago. \nThe creative impulse is not predetermined by an idea\, but seems to emerge naturally\, bringing to light human connection\, memory\, transformation and the way in which every experience leaves its mark on us. Memories and emotions are spontaneously translated into painting through a non-figurative language that transcends the figurative to lay bare its emotional essence. By juxtaposing shapes and colours free from the constraints of reality\, the artist engages directly with the inner self. \nThe circle\, the fulcrum of her artistic vision\, symbolises continuous transformation and guides a creative process of construction and destruction\, in which the layers of paint even conceal handwritten diary entries. This shape is also his signature: each painting concludes with a hand-drawn circle that acts as a seal\, like a full stop declaring the work’s journey complete. \nEMILY BARTLETT\nBartlett was born in 1990 in Weymouth\, England\, in the lively county of Dorset. \nToday she lives and works in Liverpool. With her instinctive approach to painting\, the artist transforms the canvas into a field of visual forces: her works celebrate spontaneous and vibrant artistic gesture\, where every dynamic brushstroke and every splash of color tells a story of inner expression and vitality. The fluid and organic composition\, reminiscent of natural forms such as flowers or inner landscapes\, challenges conventional representation\, inviting the viewer to make an emotional and personal connection.\nHer signature is a circle\, representing her vision of life\, in constant motion and rich in connections\, but also interpretable as the final point in the completion of the artwork. The circular motifs\, almost always present in the works\, reminiscent of the concentric circles made famous by artists such as Kandinsky\, act as focal points\, bringing rhythm and a sense of rotational movement to the composition. The artist assiduously returns to her old works for inspiration\, as part of her concept of the circle.\nThe painting is experienced as a page in a diary\, on which the artist sometimes writes and then hides the words with bright colors. Fundamental is the musical presence of instrumental pieces accompanying the creative act\, an element that allows for a clear and profound inner dialogue between the work and the artist.
