SUMMARY:OUT OF CONTROL by Julian T
DESCRIPTION:On the occasion of Genova START Friday\, 3 October will see the opening of Out of Control\, the solo exhibition by Julian T \nThe artist’s research begins with the marvellous simplicity of a small drop falling and crashing onto a sheet of paper\, unexpectedly\, in a brief instant. Julian T is fascinated by the indomitability of such a linear gesture\, exaggerating it across the board and crystallising the ungovernable forever. The result is a painting that does not need to express itself through form\, because it is closely linked to being and living.\n\nImpact leaves its manifestation to chance; it is out of control. Randomness is a very fascinating element; not having control means pausing to observe what generates the unpredictable. All forms are metaphors for a state of mind that is identified through the form itself. Kandinsky speaks of the “spirituality of art”\, seeing form beyond its own form. An artist must “touch the inner strings of the soul\, for his task is not to dominate form\, but to adapt form to content”.\n\nVisual art accentuates a subjective interpretation of the work; attributing one’s feelings to an object or a person is an unconscious process: Julian T’s stain becomes a deep black hole\, sucking and pulling everything away with it; or explosive force\, a mass that spills out\, invades and bursts into the room.\n\nThe desire to share this experience in front of people\, creating pathos and uncontrolled interaction\, aims to excite\, provoke\, stimulate dialogue and elicit changing inspirations.\n\nOPENING OUT OF CONTROL Friday 3 October at 6 p.m.\n\nPERFORMANCE Friday 3 October at 7.30 p.m.

SUMMARY:Presentation of the book ‘La Musa Surreale’ (The Surreal Muse) by Alessandra Redaelli
DESCRIPTION:Presentation of the book ‘La Musa Surreale’ (The Surreal Muse)\, in the presence of the writer\, journalist and curator Alessandra Redaelli\, who will talk about Surrealism through the eyes of a muse. The book will be available for purchase during the evening.\n\nInspired by the life of Gala Dmitrievna\, the narrative voice is finally that of a woman: the muse of Surrealism.\n\nIn the novel\, Gala stands out as the pivotal character of an era\, the driving force behind the literary career of Paul Eluard – France’s greatest poet – and the artistic career of Salvador Dalí\, the very symbol of Surrealist painting.\n\nLocked away in her castle in Púbol\, in the heart of the province of Gerona\, Spain\, a now mature Gala tells her story in the first person\, from when she was still called Elena Dmitrievna and arrived from Russia in Switzerland to be treated for tuberculosis in a sanatorium and to meet\, there\, a very young and shy Paul Eluard.\n\n\nThen passion flares up\, and her unwavering faith in the talent of a boy who becomes a man and establishes himself as one of the leading figures of Dadaism and Surrealism. Then came her encounter with Max Ernst\, the ménage à trois that scandalised Paris\, and later\, the arrival of the young Dalí in the couple’s life and the birth of a love that excluded everything else and became the driving force behind a unique and revolutionary art form.\n\nPunctuated by memories\, regrets for a youth now gone\, and heartbreaks for the young lovers who accompanied her in her final years\, Gala’s story is that of a divisive woman who knew how to make herself hated by the world as much as she knew how to make herself adored by the men who stood by her.\nBut it is also the story of a century that left no room for women\, and an opportunity to reflect on the stories of all the female figures who were wrongly considered secondary characters in art and who instead contributed fundamentally to its evolution.\n\nLink to the book: https://www.vandaedizioni.com/prodotto/ottobre-la-musa-surreale/
