Blueseries – Amore e Psiche by Silvio Porzionato<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Silvio Porzionato pays homage to the masterpieces of the great masters of art who have shaped his artistic journey.<\/p>\n\n

At the height of the Neoclassical period, Antonio Canova captured the myth of Cupid and Psyche in marble. The sculpture, created between 1787 and 1793 and now housed in the Louvre, depicts an episode from Apuleius\u2019 *Metamorphoses*: it is the long-awaited moment when Cupid and Psyche, after enduring various trials and tribulations, are reunited, never to be parted again.<\/p>\n\n

The bodies seek one another out, and the marble loses its rigidity to become skin and breath. Everything is in a precarious balance between desire and renunciation, tension and harmony, stillness and action. The soft lines guide the eye towards the emotional centre of the work, which seeks to immortalise the moment when that which is about to vanish is recognised. It is the suspended contact between the faces and the infinite gaze of a suspended scene destined to repeat itself, without ever happening, for eternity.<\/p>\n\n

In this comparison of eras and artistic languages, the influence of Antonio Canova resurfaces, unexpectedly, in Silvio Porzionato\u2019s contemporary painting. Although their materials and techniques differ greatly, the artist takes up the core of Canova\u2019s expression and reworks it through the vibrancy of the image. The figures emerge from nuanced atmospheres, cinematic light and broken contours that dissolve over time. Whilst Canova captures the moment, Porzionato renders it unstable, fragile and precarious, like a memory that surfaces but is immediately on the verge of fading away.<\/p>\n\n

In the Blue Series, blue becomes a structural element that creates an unreal and distant atmosphere. The subjects are recognisable but seem to belong to a mental space rather than the real world, like fragments of fading memory. The colour heightens the underlying emotional tension and transforms an artistic icon into an introspective experience. Thus, the viewer becomes a silent participant in the visual dialogue between past and present.<\/p>\n\n

Deep into blue \u2013 the BLUESERIES<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

In his newest series, titled \u201cBLUESERIES,\u201d for the first time Silvio Porzionato pays homage to the classic icons and subjects that have shaped and inspired his journey as an artist. <\/p>\n\n

Inspiration was born between the Metropolitan Museum in New York and the Vatican Museums: initially attracted by busts and statues of minor figures, the artist continued the pictorial cycle by focusing his path with a work of figurative and conceptual interpretation of the most important pictorial works of all time.<\/p>\n\n

\u201cBLUESERIES\u201d represents an ode to the beauty and complexity of art, both ancient and contemporary, to the power of imagination and art’s ability to inspire and transform. The artist skillfully weaves personal elements of contemporary figuration into abstractionism and, conceptually, even cubism. First and foremost, he enacts a profound reflection on the continuity of art through the centuries and the relentless search for new forms of expression.<\/p>\n\n

The common thread of this series is blue, specifically cyan, charged and intense. Blue has always taken on multiple meanings: it is depth, it is infinite, it is an inner, soul-telling color. For Vassili Kandinsky, blue represented man’s impulse to search for his inner nature.<\/p>\n\n
