Talk with Gianni Lucchesi: art historian and expert Armando Battelli meets artist Gianni Lucchesi at Galleria Rossetti arte contemporanea. Famous in Genoa for the sculpture of a man sitting atop a tower of cubes that watched over and intrigued passers-by in Piazza De Ferrari in the autumn of 2023. Lucchesi’s work has always been animated by the attempt to visually translate the reflections arising from the investigation of the psyche, of the emotional states of the individual in relation to himself, to others and to his surroundings. Through visual metaphors drawn from universal languages arising from artistic and spiritual research, emotions take shape and colour. One of his codes of reference is the earth understood as subsoil, as a metaphor for the emotional stratification of the subjects observed: earth as the inner environment and roots as the essence of the subject. A thread, for the graphic sign or painting, is a boundary between the self and the outside, with all that it contains also free to contagion and connection on different planes as happens in the “Inner Environments” in which the lo recurs, marking the passage. The places within which his works come alive are carefully chosen. Places with an evocative and fascinating depth brushed by nature or by the hand of man do not matter, as long as they have that evocative power to encompass the new art, the new interpretation of human feeling.

Rossetti Arte Contemporanea is an exhibition point, but not only; it is a point of reference as well as a cultural aggregation, of inspiration, meeting and confrontation also thanks to the conferences that are periodically held within it and that stimulate dialogue and the birth of new ideas.
It is precisely in this magical place that Rossetti Arte Contemporanea is inserted in the increasingly topical perspective of a renewed cultural pole in the historic centre. It was created as a place of inspiration for innovative proposals in which artistic design and interior architecture combine to enhance the personality of the patrons, with a view to a final elegant fusion between each work and its spatial destiny. The gallery draws its strength from the previous experience of the Rinascimento Contemporaneo gallery founded in Boccadasse in 2010.
