Dialectics of Balance: group exhibition
3 June @ 18:00 - 3 July @ 21:00

THE DIALECTIC OF BALANCE: BETWEEN DOMINATION AND LOSS OF CONTROL.
THE GROUP EXHIBITION DURING GENOA DESIGN WEEK
Balance as the ability to harmonise different, often opposing elements. Balance between form and function, between tradition and innovation; balance between people, the environment and technology; visual and perceptual balance, social and cultural balance.
Balance as a conscious design practice, constantly seeking harmony between complexity, ethics and aesthetics.
The artists Gianni Lucchesi, Paolo Ceribelli, Gianluca Patti and Julian T. engage in a dialogue within the exhibition to explore the concept of balance, not as static symmetry, but as a dynamic tension between opposing forces: fullness and emptiness, light and shadow, chaos and order. Not a point of arrival, nor a state of motionless stillness. In art, balance is a dynamic process, a constant dance between contrasting forces that strive not to succumb to one another.
Is balance, then, the result of an ‘artifice’, a human need to impose meaning on the becoming of things?
This exhibition has been conceived to explore that “fine line” upon which creativity and existence itself rest. Through the works on display, the concept of balance reveals itself in its duality: on the one hand, classical proportion, which reassures the eye with its harmony; on the other, the fragility of the precarious, which leaves us breathless before sculptures that seem to defy gravity.
In a world dominated by disorder and speed, art acts as an interpreter of our need to find a centre. The selected installations and paintings do not offer definitive answers, but pose the fundamental question: how can we remain standing in a universe that is constantly changing?
The exhibition opens on Wednesday 3 June at 6.00 pm at the gallery premises at 33r Via Chiabrera.
