International collaborations: Silvio Porzionato’s BlueSeries arrives in China at the Guanghui Art Museum
Cultural dialogue between Italy and China marks a new and significant milestone in Chengdu.
We are proud to announce the opening of Silvio Porzionato’s prestigious solo exhibition “Timeless” in the spectacular galleries of the Guanghui Art Museum, one of the country’s most cutting-edge museums. The event forms part of the Chengdu-Europe Culture Season, an international showcase celebrating the artistic encounter between the West and the new frontiers of Asian modernity, under the patronage of the Consulate General of Italy in Chongqing.

The Guanghui Art Museum in Chengdu is showcasing Silvio Porzionato’s artistic exploration.
Located in the Tianfu New Area district, the Guanghui Art Museum is a contemporary architectural masterpiece designed by OLI Architecture. The building’s design, reminiscent of a box suspended between mountains and rivers, draws inspiration from Chinese ink painting, creating the perfect setting for a dialogue between figurative tradition and global modernity. The exhibition represents a moment of the highest international significance, celebrating our artist’s talent in one of the most iconic and avant-garde museum centres in contemporary China.
The project at Guanghui is not merely an exhibition, but a true celebration of creativity capable of engaging with major global institutions. Observing this synergy between the solidity of the Italian artistic tradition and the dynamism of the capital of Sichuan offers a unique perspective on new paths in art. An event that redefines the boundaries of our creative identity, projecting it into a dimension of absolute global significance. An extraordinary achievement that marks a new chapter in the story of Italian art in the world.

Deep into blue – the BLUESERIES
In his newest series, titled “BLUESERIES,” for the first time Silvio Porzionato pays homage to the classic icons and subjects that have shaped and inspired his journey as an artist.
Inspiration was born between the Metropolitan Museum in New York and the Vatican Museums: initially attracted by busts and statues of minor figures, the artist continued the pictorial cycle by focusing his path with a work of figurative and conceptual interpretation of the most important pictorial works of all time.
“BLUESERIES” represents an ode to the beauty and complexity of art, both ancient and contemporary, to the power of imagination and art’s ability to inspire and transform. The artist skillfully weaves personal elements of contemporary figuration into abstractionism and, conceptually, even cubism. First and foremost, he enacts a profound reflection on the continuity of art through the centuries and the relentless search for new forms of expression.
The common thread of this series is blue, specifically cyan, charged and intense. Blue has always taken on multiple meanings: it is depth, it is infinite, it is an inner, soul-telling color. For Vassili Kandinsky, blue represented man’s impulse to search for his inner nature.
