Alessandra Gasparini

Alessandra Gasparini born in Genoa, February 1964.

At a very young age, during her high school days, the artist used to go to the workshop of the painter Adriano De Laurentis, where she took posing, nude and figure course at his studio in Chiavari and fully learned his teachings over the course of 5 years. In the summer of ’84 he attended the nude and figure course taught by painter Giovanni Job in Sestri Levante at the C.A.L.A. Fieschi cultural club.
Although coming from the rigor of drawing, from the recovery of formal and aesthetic reality, from the obsessed and obsessive exercise of exactitude and on the strength of that very thing, when in 1985 she landed at the Academy of Fine Arts in Carrara (MS) she chose to attend the course of Painter Giorgio Ulivi.

Over the course of the academic course, Gasparini came into contact with what she still lacked: the color material, the wide and clumsy sampling, the instinctive speed, the scratched and violated canvas, the fat and coarse matter left by the palette knife, the dance in front of the canvas. In Carrara she won a scholarship that led her to work at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. Moreover, the academic college chose her to represent the Academy of Fine Arts of Carrara, painting section, at the sixth National Review of Contemporary Art in Bari. Today Gasparini boasts a resume of numerous solo exhibitions that have taken place in both Italy and abroad, in collaboration with prominent galleries.
