THIS SEASON’S PROGRAM

Our appointments

A busy season: the coming months will be packed with events and happenings, we anticipate the gallery’s must-see events from now until the end of the year

Il rosso è vendicativo (Red is vindictive)

Alessandra Gasparini’s solo exhibition curated by Alessandra Redaelli

Poster for the exhibition Red is Vengeful by Alessandra Gasparini

On the occasion of the opening of the new exhibition season, in the context of the event START – the white night of modern and contemporary art, the Rossetti Gallery proposes the solo exhibition “Il rosso è vendicativo” (“Red is vindictive”) by Alessandra Gasparini, a multifaceted artist whose talent becomes an emblem of freedom of expression and openness to knowledge and instinct.

Alessandra Gasparini possesses a world, inside, so imposing and so packed with suggestions and images that when it gushes onto the canvas it stretches there in complex, rich narratives, impossible to grasp at first glance. Paintings of slow and meticulous construction, impeccable in the concatenation of logical connections and, nevertheless, imbued with an instinctuality that does not go unnoticed, with a wild, untamable creativity, which is then the ingredient of enchantment.

Opening on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at 6 p.m.

Meet André Aciman

National premiere of the presentation of his new collection of essays

André Aciman in Genoa at the Rossetti Gallery

A dialogue discovering his writing by exploring intimacy and fragility of human nature through desire, memory, time & identity.

The meetings and documentary aim to bring to light the relationship of the internationally renowned writer with Liguria, which has always been evoked in his writing. This talk proposes to highlight the strong bond between the author and the region, whose beauty and art shaped his works. “Call Me by Your Name,” his best-known novel, from which the 2018 Oscar-winning film of the same name was made, is in fact set in the Ligurian Riviera, more precisely in Bordighera.

Personal exhibition by Tom Porta

the third exhibition organized by the gallery

Following the great success of previous exhibitions, this December we will open a new solo exhibition by artist Tom Porta at our gallery.

The artist is fascinated by the passage of time, the mark on objects, the wear and tear he lets flow through his journey. There is no casual observer and distraction is literally pulverized by the power of the pictorial stroke, the choice of subjects, the framing, the colors as vital breaths.
