Davide Puma
Sanremo, Italy
Davide Puma was born in Sanremo in 1971.
His passion for painting manifested itself in its entirety in 2005, the year in which he decided to refine and direct his natural talent by attending the Balbo Academy of Bordighera with the master Enzo Consiglio and the school of artistic nude of Menton.
Puma looks and draws on the great characters who have made the history of painting of the twentieth century and beyond, and at the end of his journey strengthens his personal painting that is increasingly powerful and characteristic.
He researches and portrays very different subjects – such as animals, people, religious figures, mythological creatures, surreal visions in metamorphosis – which however allow his work to be immediately recognizable for the intensity of his subjects, for the vibration of his pictorial language, for the personal material texture, for the delicate colors, for the technical virtuosity in the use of spatula and brush.
All these elements become essential for him to describe, in a suggestive and exciting way, a human and artistic vision.
In recent years he has held solo exhibitions internationally and participated in art fairs in Europe and the United States. Since 2013 his work is part of the permanent collection of the MACS Museum (Museum of Contemporary Art of Sicily). In 2014 he created the painting of St. Thomas Reggio for the Cathedral of Ventimiglia, where it is permanently exhibited.
In 2015 he was invited by the Institute of Italian Culture in Kyoto to participate in the DIM Festival, as the only artist representing Italian figurative art.
He works with art galleries in Italy and abroad.
