Andrea Savazzi
Casalmaggiore, Cremona, Italy
Andrea Savazzi was born in Casalmaggiore (CR) in 1974.
He obtained a diploma in Graphic Arts at the Art Institute P. Toschi in Parma. And over time, he developed a painting based on antique techniques.
Right now, he lives in Martingana di PO (CR).
For his works he takes his cue from the pixelated images of the contemporary digital era that have now invaded our daily lives trying to induce the viewer to ask questions about the society in which he lives, with a fluid painting that seems to dissolve the images, giving an effect of censorship and dealing mainly with two themes: the environment and the Italian political scene.
In the first case the paintings have a more decadent and poetic aspect, while in the political scenes there is a more ironic and grotesque approach.
He held some personal exhibitions such as Palazzo Reale in Milan, Fortezza da Basso in Florence, Studio Rossetti in Genova, Complesso Monumentale del Broletto in Novara, Palazzo Collegio Raffaello in Urbino, Galleria Lazzaro in Milano, Casa del Mantegna in Mantua, Palazzo Ducale in Mantua, Villa Bagatti Valsecchi in Varedo (MB), Chiostro della Madonna dell’Orto in Venice, Casa dell’Architettura in Rome, Museo della Permanente in Milan.
He won some prizes: Special prize of the EneganArt jury, 1st place at the XXIX Biennale d’Arte in Trivero (BI), a work awarded at Expo Arte Italiana, 1st place at the Gambino international prize, AXA Italia sponsor award at the Talent Prize, 2 times finalist for the Mondadori Art Award.
